WES Happenings Nov. 13-17

Minimum Days with a 12:40 release all week for Parent /Teacher conferences. Please check your bus schedule as some local stops are eliminated on Minimum Days. SAFE will be open from 12:40 – 6pm every day this week. All students were given a new green Cub Character shirt to wear on Fridays to show our school spirit!

BOOK FAIR Monday - Thursday!! 12:45 – 5pm in the Library (during the week of Parent / Teacher Conferences). Make sure you stop by the Library before or after your conference to check out all the great books! These make excellent Christmas gifts!

8th Grade News

Our 8th grade class will be selling Wreaths from Dawson’s Wreath Barn. Be on the lookout – forms are coming home soon. Our next 8th grade parent meeting is Thursday, November

30th at 5:30 in Room 22.

Cub Character

Justice Gordon: Justice brought in crayons from home to help her classmates complete our family artwork for November. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. ~ Mrs. Wilson

Mary Guerra: Mary stayed after school to clean up paint and paint brushes without being asked – thanks for your helpfulness. ~ Mrs. Blankenship

Steel Pearson: Steel volunteered to finish a project inside even though the rest of his group was having free time outside – thanks for being responsible. ~ Mrs. Blankenship

Axel Ramirez: Axel was recognized by a guest teacher for having most improved behavior. Way to go! ~ Mrs. Blankenship

Mikey Perry: He helped encourage another student in the classroom by telling him to have a growth mindset. ~ Mrs. Blankenship

Jordan Miller: Jordan noticed one of my students playing handball by himself and offered to play with him. Thank you for your compassion, it does not go unnoticed. ~ Mrs. Rice (Special Day)

Marshall Mitchell: Marshall helps me get the movie station ready every morning. He has also been an excellent line leader. Thank you Marshall. ~ Ms. Margaret

Kaiden Bertulfo: Kaiden is very helpful with clean up in the gym after morning activities. He helps put away the blocks, Legos, and coloring books. Thank you for being so helpful

Chloe Keeton: Every morning Chloe makes time to greet a younger student with a hug and asks how they are doing. This kindness brightens the younger student’s day. Thank you! ~ Ms. Margaret

We, at Weed Elementary School, believe that it is our responsibility to provide quality educational programs which foster significant academic achievement for ALL students in a safe environment characterized by mutual respect and acceptance of the individual differences.





If WES students and staff need to evacuate the school for an emergency please do the following:


1. Remain calm- we will evacuate all of our students safely.

2. Please let us get all students to the evacuation sight and meet us there for sign out and pick up.

3. As soon as possible you will be notified with information if we need to evacuate.


If we are evacuating off campus and remaining in the uptown area of Weed please meet us at Son's Field by the high school


If we are evacuating off campus to the downtown area, pick up will be on Alamo by the train depot.
