Nakailah Murrell is the winner of our T-Shirt Art Contest! Our Cub Character shirts will have her design on them. Way to go Nakailah!! A big thank you to all who participated – they were all so nice, staff had a really tough time choosing a winner.

PARENTS:

Please check the Lost and Found Closets in the Cafeteria. We have quite a few items already this year. Next week (weather permitting) we will have a “FREE” table in the front of the school with items that people have donated to those who might need them.

It’s time for Box Tops again!! Box Tops are found on many grocery store items and are

worth .10¢ each when mailed in by the end of October. Please help us raise money for our school. Put Box Tops in zip-loc bag and put your teacher's name on it – you can

turn them into your teacher or the office by October 27 th .

Cub Power

Get ready Weed Cubs! It’s the 1st ever “Cub Color Run” on Saturday, September 30th at the COS Bear Trail beginning at 9am. Come join us for this really fun walk/run – you’ll be super colorful by the end! Registration is only $10 per person or $25 per family if you sign up before Sept. 30th. Registration forms were sent home or can be picked up in the main office. Join us!!

Cub Power meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 6-7 pm in the WES Library. We hope you’ll join us in supporting our school! Registration Form.

Donavan Bocanegra: Another student forgot his home lunch in the classroom; he was scared to go get it. Even though Donavan was the first student to get a hot lunch, he volunteered to give up his spot and walk the child all the way back to the classroom. ~ Mrs. Ramirez

We, at Weed Elementary School, believe that it is our responsibility to provide quality educational programs which foster significant academic achievement for ALL students in a safe environment characterized by mutual respect and acceptance of the individual differences.

 

 

SAFETY

EMERGENCY EVACUATIONS OFF CAMPUS

If WES students and staff need to evacuate the school for an emergency please do the following:

 

1. Remain calm- we will evacuate all of our students safely.

2. Please let us get all students to the evacuation sight and meet us there for sign out and pick up.

3. As soon as possible you will be notified with information if we need to evacuate.

 

If we are evacuating off campus and remaining in the uptown area of Weed please meet us at Son's Field by the high school

 

If we are evacuating off campus to the downtown area, pick up will be on Alamo by the train depot.

 

If you would like more information regarding our evacuation plans please contact our Superintendent, Alisa Cummings.
