HAPPENINGS AT WES

September 26-30

Picture Day is Wednesday. SPIRIT WEAR IS COMING SOON!! WES will have a website where you can design your Spirit Wear through Sportsmen’s Den. Orders can be paid for online only or checks will be accepted at Sportsmen’s Den at time of order. More details to come - we’ll keep you posted!!

This year, to recognize students who have gotten Cub Character referrals, earned Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance etc. will receive a dog-tag style chain and brag tags to add to it, showing off their excellence! Mrs. Cummings will be coming around to classrooms on Oct 6 to recognize Cub Character referrals for Aug-Sept. Let’s strive to be our VERY BEST each and every day!

Cub Power

Cub Power is our Parent/Teacher Organization that meets once per month. At their last meeting, they decided to award the class who turns in the most Box Tops by October 25, with a pizza party! Send your trimmed box tops in a bag or envelope with your teachers name on it so they can be credited to that classroom! GOOD LUCK ~ let’s raise some Box Top CASH!! Remember Oct 25th is the deadline.

News from SAFE

Our students enjoyed making cupcakes, slime and doing all kinds of fun and educational activities the past few weeks. The Siskiyou County Office of Education are encouraging all S.A.F.E. sites to participate in the 100 mile club. This is a program that encourages the students to walk or run 100 miles during the 2016- 2017 school year. Our students have enjoyed beginning their journey to 100 miles. Each student who participates will receive a medal at the end of the year.

Student Council Every

FRIDAY is HAT FRIDAY ~ Student Council collects $1.00 from students who want to wear their hat indoors during the day. Students can purchase a stamp before school in the Gym.

Cub Character

Melrose Severin, Justice Gordon, Christian Galindo, Steven Weidner, Kayla Zarco-Alvarez and Jamila Thomas: Showing “student behavior” in the classroom is very important. I am pleased to say that these students pay attention to the teacher during learning time. They do their work without complaining and always try to do their best. They show classroom Cub Character. I’m proud of them! ~ Mrs. Poloni

2nd Annual Boles Fire BBQ

On Thursday, September 15 we had our 2nd Annual Boles Fire BBQ.  WES students and staff got together with Weed High School staff and students and remembered the Boles Fire – We celebrated Weed’s resilience and perseverance with a BBQ and music – We continue to remember all who were affected and are so thankful to the Fire and Police crews who helped us on that day!
