Happenings at WES-February 21-24


We’re looking for donations for Classroom Gift Baskets that are being put together to raffle at our Staff vs. 8th Grade Students Basketball Game on March 3rd. Please talk to your child to see what their grade’s theme is. Thank you for your support!

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! All students are encouraged to wear a crazy hat or silly socks that day to celebrate!

Middle School News

There is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Conference for 6th, 7th & 8th grade girls on Sat Mar 18th at Simpson University. Cost is $20 for students and $20 for adults. Cheer News

Weed Middle School Cheerleaders will be hosting a one week “Mini Camp” for students Kindergarten – 5th grade. We will practice from 4pm - 5pm starting Monday, Feb. 27th – Thursday, March 2nd. On Friday March 3rd we will end the week with a halftime performance at the Staff vs. Student Basketball game. The cost is $20 and all proceeds will go toward WES Cheer for the purchase of new warm ups. Please contact Terry in the WES office if you have any questions 938-2715

8th Grade News

8th graders will go to WHS on March 22nd to take the PSAT. Info will be coming home soon.

Our Boys Basketball Tournament (a fundraiser for our class trip) is Feb 23rd-25th and we would love your support! We will have a hospitality room for our refs on Friday and Saturday and would love it if you could bring a dish or donate a snack for them.

Cub Power

Our 9th Annual Staff vs. 8th grade Students Basketball Fundraiser & Rigatoni Dinner is set for March 3rd so SAVE THE DATE! This is a super fun event that you don’t want to miss out on!

Each grade will be putting together a gift basket to raffle off at the game so please check with your child’s teacher to see what type of items you can donate. Baskets will be raffled off throughout the game and at halftime we will have a special presentation by our WES Cheerleaders and our K-5th grade Cheer Camp participants! Our GRAND PRIZE

will be raffled at the end of the game!! It’s a fantastic prize this year ~ don’t miss it!!

We, at Weed Elementary School, believe that it is our responsibility to provide quality educational programs which foster significant academic achievement for ALL students in a safe environment characterized by mutual respect and acceptance of the individual differences.




If WES students and staff need to evacuate the school for an emergency please do the following:


1. Remain calm- we will evacuate all of our students safely.

2. Please let us get all students to the evacuation sight and meet us there for sign out and pick up.

3. As soon as possible you will be notified with information if we need to evacuate.


If we are evacuating off campus and remaining in the uptown area of Weed please meet us at Son's Field by the high school


If we are evacuating off campus to the downtown area, pick up will be on Alamo by the train depot.
