Community News

The Weed Community Christmas Basket Committee will once again be accepting applications for the Christmas Food Boxes on December 2. Call Martin Nicholas at 938-5000 or Evelyn Smith

Toys for Tots Applications have been sent home they must be returned to South Siskiyou County Toys for Tots by December 5th. Their address is: South Siskiyou County Toys for Tots 326 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd.

The Mt Shasta Sisson Museum is having the Story of the California Grizzly and Black.

WUESD is committed to providing an educational environment that supports, encourages, and challenges each student and staff to strive for academic excellence, mutual respect and responsible citizenship.



We, at Weed Elementary School, believe that it is our responsibility to provide quality educational programs which foster significant academic achievement for ALL students in a safe environment characterized by mutual respect and acceptance of the individual differences.




(MP1) Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them; (MP2) Reason abstractly and quantitatively; (MP3) Construct Viable arguments and critique reasoning of others.

Students will read complex text closely to analyze what the text says explicitly and make logical inferences from it; citing specific textual evidence when writing or speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text.


If WES students and staff need to evacuate the school for an emergency please do the following:


1. Remain calm- we will evacuate all of our students safely.

2. Please let us get all students to the evacuation sight and meet us there for sign out and pick up.

3. As soon as possible you will be notified with information if we need to evacuate.


If we are evacuating off campus and remaining in the uptown area of Weed please meet us at Son's Field by the high school


If we are evacuating off campus to the downtown area, pick up will be on Alamo by the train depot.
