    Student Support Team

This time of year is really hard for a lot of families – especially parents.

I’ve done several trainings on Holiday Blues. I start that training by asking the adults to describe their favorite Christmas. I was amazed at the 150 or so, adults’ answer to that question. Not one person said their favorite Christmas was connected to a gift!

Over and over, they mentioned a relationship or relationships that made that Christmas their favorite.

At a time when we parents feel so much pressure to “buy gifts” please remember that the “gift” that can make this Christmas their favorite may be attached to the relationship you have with them. A hug, a game, a tradition, a long talk.  Maybe your gift will be that you show them that “life is not going to convince you that you aren’t STRONG enough to BELIEVE and to have HOPE – for you – for your student – for your family.

    4th Annual Boles Fire BBQ

Last Thursday, we celebrated the town of Weed as well as ours and the High School’s resiliency and perseverance through the Boles Fire. We recognize that that event shaped our students, families and community and we came out stronger - we celebrated with the High School students by having a special BBQ Lunch on our playground and unifying our schools!
